Hi all
We scouted Dead Creek WMA for first time to become familiar with area in preparation for next spring. 🙂 Wonderful place and I can see why it is “birdy”. First birds we saw were about ~600 Snow Goose loafing, sleeping and feeding field along Vermont 17 viewing area.

Also, seen on our driving journey were couple of Red-tailed Hawk, Red-winged Blackbird, Black-capped Chickadee, American Crow, Chipping Sparrow, American Robin, Great Egret, Mallard, American Wigeon, Song Sparrow, Purple Finch, American Goldfinch and Great Blue Heron.

State of Vermont biologist provided us and one other close view of Northern Watersnake and some details about snakes.
